Embark on a thrilling day trip from Reykjavík to Þingvellir National Park and snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of the Silfra fissure. Led by experienced PADI divemasters, you’ll explore the Big Crack and Silfra Lagoon with visibility up to 394 feet. This adventure is perfect for those who crave excitement and don’t mind the cold. The package includes a dry suit fitting, snorkeling gear, and a post-snorkel treat of hot cocoa.
Highlights of this excursion include snorkeling between two continents, guided by PADI-certified divemasters, and visiting Silfra’s main sections: Big Crack, Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and Silfra Lagoon. You’ll also indulge in cookies and hot chocolate after your snorkeling session. On the way to Þingvellir National Park, you’ll learn about Iceland’s geology and cultural history.
Before you go, note that the duration of the activity is 2.5 hours and is recommended for ages 12 and up. The group size is small, with a maximum of 6 participants. You’ll also enjoy hot chocolate and cookies as part of the experience.
Your adventure begins with a guide near the steps leading to Silfra fissure, where you’ll receive all necessary gear, including a dry suit. Trained PADI divemasters will ensure your comfort and readiness before you explore the underwater wonders of Silfra. Marvel at the vibrant colors and incredible clarity underwater, as well as the unique experience of floating between two tectonic plates.
Daily start times are available at 8:00 am, 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 5:00 pm, and 8:00 pm.
Included in the package are the entrance fee into Silfra, a snorkel guide, snorkeling equipment, and the delightful post-snorkel treat of hot chocolate and cookies.
