Embark on a full-day guided hiking adventure through Europe’s longest and most popular river gorge, Samaria Gorge in Crete. Marvel at the stunning views of the rushing river, rocky mountain peaks, and picturesque countryside as you trek alongside a knowledgeable local guide. The journey begins at Xyloskalo in the White Mountains and culminates in the charming coastal village of Agia Roumeli on the South coast. The descent offers breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding mountains and hills, with highlights including the awe-inspiring Iron Gates where the walls narrow to just 13 feet. Traverse bridges, boardwalks, and river crossings before reaching the shores of the Libyan Sea for a refreshing swim or a leisurely lunch break. Return to Chania via ferry to Sougia or Sfakia, where your transfer back awaits. Please note that this challenging hike requires a good level of physical fitness.
