Kids’ Activities on Mt. Parnassos
Let your little ones explore the nature around Delphi with this easy walk in the National Park of Mt.
Overview
The walk follows a gentle circular path that is suitable for strollers, allowing for a hassle-free experience. Along the route, children can catch a glimpse of the entrance to the underground Eptastomos Cave, which houses the southernmost glacier in Europe, a mystical spot that the Ancient Greeks believed to be an entrance to the underworld!
After the walk, indulge in a delightful picnic featuring traditional delicacies while engaging with your knowledgeable guides. Learn about local customs, try your hand at archery, or have fun climbing trees in the area. Keep an eye out for the Cephalonian Fir and Juniper tree, the main tree species found in this region.
As you make your way back, watch for adorable black squirrels scampering in the pine trees and majestic golden eagles soaring above. According to Greek mythology, Mt. Parnassos was inhabited by graceful forest nymphs, the daughters of Gaia, also known as “Mother Earth.”
