Highlights of the tour include sampling spanakopita at a centuries-old cafe, navigating the bustling Varvakios Agora market, savoring custard-filled filo squares at a traditional pastry shop, and strolling past spice sellers on Evripidou Street.
Before you set off, note that the tour lasts four hours and is suitable for all ages. It is designed for a small group of no more than nine participants and includes food and drink samples.
Your journey begins at Monastiraki Square, where you’ll meet your guide and fellow food enthusiasts. From there, you’ll delve into Athens’ culinary scene, visiting local bakeries, cheese shops, and markets. Taste traditional Greek cheeses, enjoy strong Greek coffee, and sample fresh fruit, olives, and ham. Wrap up your gastronomic adventure with a visit to a souvenir shop to try Greek yogurt, local wine, olive oil, and honey before ending at Evripidou Street for one final tasting experience.
