Glanni Waterfall
Located near the town of Borgarnes and just north of Reykjavik, the Glanni Waterfall is a mystical sight on the Ring Road. Legend has it that elves and trolls reside in this enchanting cascade, which flows down the Nordura River in multiple tiers. The waterfall, as wide as the river itself, glistens in the sunlight as it plunges into the rocks below, earning its name from the Icelandic word “Glanni,” meaning “light” or “shining.”
Visitors can park their cars in a nearby lot and follow a trail to a viewing deck, where they can admire the beauty of Glanni and its picturesque surroundings. The waterfall is in close proximity to the Grabrok volcano and the Grabrokarhraun lava field, adding to the allure of the area.
