Many beaches in this region offer ideal spots for sunset and unspoiled nature home to sea turtles. Among others, top choices are Romanos Beach & Petrochori Beach. On one side (Petrochori), you’ll find dunes with rocks and deep water. Some of the dunes may be covered with white sea lilies, a protected species found in western Peloponnese. There, you will find the traditional fish tavern “Grigoris – Maradona” and the restaurant beach bar “Ammothines”, both with great sea views.
Tip: Close to Petrohori and Romanos is the small village of Tragana with a beautiful square offering unique views. You’ll enjoy landscapes of silver olive groves stretching from Paleokastro to the Gulf of Navarino, the famous Gialova Lagoon, and glimpses of the Golden Coast and the sea.
