What you’ll do
Your day begins with hotel pickup and a scenic drive to the famed Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Upon arrival, meet your small group and expert naturalist guide, who will introduce you to the unique geography and ecosystems of the reserve—one of the most biodiverse spots on Earth, hosting nearly 2.5% of all species on the planet.
As you walk along the forest’s winding trails, your guide will highlight various species of flora and fauna. Keep an eye out for resident creatures such as resplendent quetzals, howler monkeys, vibrant butterflies, and colorful toucans. Even if wildlife remains elusive, your guide will point out medicinal plants, epiphytes, and the microhabitats that make Monteverde so scientifically significant.
Throughout the hike, you’ll pass through multiple ecological zones, each with unique vegetation and resident wildlife. The fresh mountain air and mystical fog create an enchanting setting, and with a bit of luck, you might spot sloths lounging in the treetops or rare birds in flight.
