Before you go, note that this 8-hour tour is recommended for ages 2 and up and is conducted in small groups. Lunch and a small snack are included, and transportation is provided. Your professional nature guide will lead you through the refuge, pointing out various wildlife species and sharing interesting facts.
The day begins with a scenic drive through the Costa Rican countryside, heading north to the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge near the Nicaragua border. Birdwatching enthusiasts will be in paradise, as the region is renowned for its avian diversity. Board the boat with your guide, and marvel at the bird species along the Rio Frio, including the majestic jabiru stork.
