Your journey is led by a certified Master Reef Guide and includes all snorkeling equipment, meals, dedicated seating, and immersive citizen science activities.
Highlights of the experience include becoming a scientist for a day on the Great Barrier Reef, joining a unique program dedicated to protecting marine ecosystems, and participating in the Eye on the Reef program to monitor reef health and fish species. Enjoy a full day sailing to outer reef locations, assisting in surveying, monitoring coral planting, and submitting reports to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority.
Before embarking on this adventure, note that the duration is 10 hours and is recommended for ages 3 and up. The experience is in a small group setting with 12 people or less, and lunch is included. Immerse yourself in the marine world, become a vital part of the Citizen Science and Research Team, and contribute to ongoing reef conservation projects on the World Heritage Great Barrier Reef.
Start your day at 8 am in Cairns, cruise on the Passions Catamaran, and enjoy morning tea while familiarizing yourself with the itinerary. Engage in various citizen science activities throughout the day, followed by a tropical buffet lunch and afternoon tea. Monitor coral planting with the University of Technology Sydney and reflect on your contributions to reef preservation.
