Athenian Riviera Bike Ride
Leave the bustle of Athens behind and cycle toward the beautiful Athenian Riviera, complete with tall palm trees and relaxed vibes.
Overview
Your adventure begins on Athens’ largest pedestrian street near the Acropolis, leading you through the charming Plaka neighborhood. En route to the Roman Agora, marvel at the panoramic views of Acropolis Hill and its numerous historical landmarks. Before reaching the riviera, explore the Thission neighborhood and Kerameikos, an ancient Greek burial ground.
As you make your way to the coastline, follow a tranquil bike path that traverses three distinct neighborhoods: Petralona, Kallithea, and Moschato. The route is predominantly flat, allowing you to observe the locals as they go about their daily routines. After approximately 45 minutes, you’ll arrive at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, a striking example of contemporary architecture housing the National Library and the National Opera House.
Upon reaching the Athenian Riviera, the scent of the sea becomes palpable as you pass by the Naval Museum and Flisvos Marina. Cycle along the coast for a while before making a stop at Alimos Marina. Afterwards, unwind at a sandy beach or enjoy a refreshing beverage at a beachfront bar.
After rejuvenating yourself, commence your journey back to the city center. Before concluding the tour, indulge in delectable handcrafted pastries at a beloved local bakery.
