Arenal Hanging Bridges Guided Walk
Explore a rainforest reserve on suspension bridges that lead you above the canopy for great views of Arenal Volcano
Experience the incredible biodiversity of the Costa Rican rainforest by walking the famous Arenal Hanging Bridges, located within a 600-acre private reserve. This guided excursion begins with a transfer from La Fortuna and takes you through a 2-mile (3-km) trail that includes 16 bridges—10 fixed and six suspended—ranging in length and height up to 328 feet (100 meters). Elevated above the forest canopy, these bridges offer awe-inspiring views of Arenal Volcano and the chance to observe hundreds of bird species and other wildlife that inhabit different forest layers. Your guide will point out hidden animals and plants along the way, and the trail is designed to be safe and accessible, with no steps and a slip-resistant surface. The area is a birdwatcher’s paradise, and you may spot toucans, tanagers, and hummingbirds among the treetops. After your trek, enjoy a tropical fruit snack before returning to La Fortuna with memories of an unforgettable nature walk.
