What you’ll do
An hour later, you’ll continue your scenic drive, climbing to the mountain village of Apeiranthos. It’s famous for its marble streets and medieval architecture – a must-see! Here, you’ll explore the quaint alleyways of the enchanting village with your guide on a walking tour and then indulge in a delightful cheese and wine-tasting experience as you savor the unique flavors of traditional Naxian dishes.
Your next stop is Chalki village, the former capital of the island. Its lovely old mansions, picturesque churches, and colorful alleys create an atmosphere that travels you back in time. You’ll visit a 100-year-old distillery and taste the Naxos’ famous citron liquor served with a delicious locally prepared custard pie.

Before embarking on this journey, it is recommended for all ages and suitable for groups of 12 people or less. Food and drink provided include homemade starters, local delicacies, and sweets.
Your adventure begins by meeting your guide at Naxos bus station and taking a 15-minute ride to Kourounochori, a small village surrounded by lush greenery. You will meet a local farmer sharing his family’s olive oil and expertise in olive harvesting. The scenic drive continues to the mountain village of Apeiranthos, known for its marble streets and medieval architecture. Explore the village, enjoy a cheese and wine-tasting, and savor traditional Naxian dishes.
The next stop is Chalki village, the former capital of the island. Visit a 100-year-old distillery to taste Naxos’ famous citron liquor paired with a locally prepared custard pie.
The tour is available on Tuesday at 10:00 am and Friday at 10:00 am. All tastings and an English-speaking local guide are included in the package.
