Embark on a journey to explore this fascinating wine culture starting at Karavitakis Winery, where you’ll sample six local and international wines in a beautifully renovated tasting room. Then, visit a 3000-year-old olive tree and indulge in the flavors of Crete at Anoskeli Winery Olive Mill, where you’ll taste organic extra virgin olive oil and five different local wines, perfectly paired with Cretan snacks.
Highlights of this experience include learning about the 4000-year-old history of Cretan wine, indulging in wine tasting at two different wineries, visiting a 3000-year-old olive tree, and tasting organic extra virgin olive oil with fresh bread, lemon, and oregano.
Before you go, note that the duration of this tour is 5 hours and is recommended for all ages. It is a small group experience with a maximum of 6 people and includes snacks and bites for food and drink.
Your adventure begins at Plateia Markopoulou, where you’ll meet your guide before setting off on this wine exploration. Your guide will share insights into the rich history of the Cretan wine industry as you make your way to Karavitakis Winery for a tasting experience. Afterward, you’ll visit a 3000-year-old olive tree and a nearby museum to learn about the tradition of olive production.
At Anoskeli Winery Olive Mill, you’ll immerse yourself in the flavors of Crete with olive oil tasting and five different local wines paired with Cretan snacks. The experience includes a deep dive into the country’s wine production and the opportunity to purchase olive oil or local wine to take home.
Start times for this tour vary, with availability on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday at 1:00 pm. Unfortunately, the tour is not available on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday.
