Hiking the Path of Gods on the Amalfi Coast
Embark on one of Italy’s most breathtaking hiking adventures along the famous “Path of the Gods” on the Amalfi Coast. This scenic trail offers sweeping views as you walk at an altitude of about 1,600 feet (500 meters) above the Mediterranean. Traverse through rocky stretches, vibrant Mediterranean flora, oak woodlands, and terraced landscapes that cascade down the cliffs. Begin your trek in the hamlet of Bomerano, within the city of Agerola, specifically at Paolo Capasso Square. From here, make your way into Lattari Regional Park, where you’ll cross the charming wooden bridge over the gorge carved by the Pennino River. Continue on the trail until you reach Biscuit Cave, an open space where the main route officially begins. Your journey concludes in the peaceful village of Nocelle, a small settlement on the slopes of Monte Peruso, part of the Positano municipality. This final stretch is relatively gentle, offering uninterrupted views of the sea. For those feeling adventurous, descend the 1,500 steps from Nocelle to reach the bustling center of Positano, where you’ll have free time to explore the town’s colorful streets and stunning seaside.
